So apparently the strike is suspended but the GJM aren't going to allow the delivery of the first batch of the season's tea harvest.
The 'first flush' of Darjeeling's finest is the most sought after tea harvest in the world market and accounts for upto 25% of the annual tea production in the hills.
The good news is that I might be able to go Darjeeling in the next couple of weeks. The bad news is obviously the damage to the local economy. But more good news is that there might be a great deal of surplus high grade tea floating around when I get up there :d
